Gutter Protection - Gutter Guard in Melbourne

A lot of property owners here in Melbourne are so much occupied with family and work tasks, that the demand for taking care of household chores are rapidly growing to be outdated. Increasingly more people are hiring companies to manage the dirty tasks that can provide them more hours to be able for them to deal with more important things that they have to take care of. Gutter cleaning is one of such dirty task. In Australia, a lot of people neglect cleaning their gutters keeping them free of debris, causing in many, many thousands of dollars of damage to their home, gutters, roof, and foundation.

Based on a Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) report, dirty gutters are a major source for igniting fires that could possibly been avoided had the gutters been clear of debris. The American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS) stated that over 500,000 people are treated in the hospital for falls from a ladder and over 300 people die each year from these accidents.

As an individual who has been in the gutter and gutter guard business for more than 20 years now, I've observed a lot of various types and models of gutter systems, gutter guards as well as gutter protection. I've found many that don't work, and a couple of gutters that work well. Many times, I've seen gutter protection systems set up improperly and poorly, resulting in them to work inaccurately as well. So having them installed properly is just as vital as the gutter guard you acquire to be installed.

Now with all the many options of Gutter Guard system that are available out there, how do you choose the proper guard?

Now that is a good question . It's been astonishing to me, that I've shown up on some jobs to fix the gutters only to find a gutter system set up on the gutters, that is certainly not performing what it's advertised to do. I've discovered that other people work as far as trying to keep the gutters clean as they advertise, but are completely terrible in terms of collecting debris . When this occurs, the down-pour of water won't be able to drain into the gutter and rather builds up and flows over the top of the debris that is collected on top of the gutter guard itself and runs off the edge of the gutter into your flower beds, damaging them in addition to the foundation of your house. Occasionally, this can even flood your basements, as I've experienced a lot of times.

One good recommendation is to avoid any screened guards, guards that drop into the gutter itself, such as the foams that are out on the market now, and any guards that have a drain channel large enough to permit little birds and animals to enter the gutter and create nests within the guard. I wouldn't suggest purchasing any of the cheaper systems you can buy at your local building supply store too. Most of them really don't work, and you will only be throwing them in the trash within the next couple years. That could be several hundred dollars down the drain that you could put towards a system that works! Out of all the gutter systems I've found, sold, set up and serviced in my time, I would have to say the ideal I've come across on the market is a gutter system called durakote. It is an Australian made pre-painted steel, designed specifically to be used in the manufacturing of highly durable rainwater products, like guttering, fascia covers and downpipes.

With so many colors that you can choose from, including all the standard colors used in the industry, durakote is an excellent pick for your next roof restoration, roof repair or guttering repair work. With exceptional resistance to all kinds of elemental forces, durakote is able to stand up to the harshest weather conditions Melbourne has to offer.
